Forest Hall's core is classic interwar Tyneside: 1930s semis and bungalows along and off the Great Lime Road and around the old village, most under concrete tile now at or past its designed life, with bay-window flat roofs that fail quietly beneath the surface. Near the Metro at Palmersville and Benton, the older streets carry Edwardian villas and terraces whose slate roofs, chimneys and lead details reward a careful hand.

Longbenton adds a different chapter — one of the North East's great post-war estates, with rooflines renewed at various standards over seventy years, where the honest question is often what the last re-roof left behind. Add the newer estates threaded between, and the area covers every generation of roof we work on, all within a few minutes of the yard.

Forest Hall does not appear by name in our reviews yet, for a simple reason: MyBuilder files this patch under Newcastle upon Tyne, where thirteen of our sixty-three reviews sit — among them a full re-roof of a 1950s bungalow on Brunton Park, a new roof on a large semi finished ahead of schedule despite bad weather, and slate work on a Victorian terrace. Wallsend, five minutes the other way, has reviewed us three times, including a new roof on a terraced house the owner called brilliant from start to finish. This is the home patch, and the record around it is the densest we have.

The 1930s stock keeps us busiest here: concrete-tile re-roofing where nail fatigue has set in, ridge and verge renewal, bay-window flat roofs replaced in EPDM or GRP, and fascias, soffits and guttering as the original timber rooflines give out. On the Edwardian streets near the Metro it is slate repairs, chimney repointing and leadwork; across Longbenton's estate stock, honest surveys that establish what previous re-roofs left behind before we quote. We also fit Velux and other roof windows, replace conservatory roofs, and handle solar panel remove-and-refit around a re-roof ourselves — increasingly common on these south-facing semis.
